STAGED SCREENPLAY READING

A staged reading of a competition finalist screenplay
Sunday, Nov 2, 4:00pm Tribeca Cinema 1

The Method, by Beth Overmyer

"James "Slim" Meyers, the new president of The We Shadows Theater board, has problems… six to be approximate.

After losing a director on his very first day, Slim must scramble to replace her and the directors that follow. But, as if on cue, the diva, Kimberly Harding; the mouthy pickpocket, Michael Chase; the mother-of-all, Pat Ailes; the over-active youngster, Jake Welenc; the foreigner, Ernesto Carlson; and the eager ingenue Chloe Briggs, act up.

Between theater duties and anger mismanagement, Slim loses his cool and vents his frustration on the board members. He is subsequently thrown out on his ear, but he has the last laugh.
