Soren Peterson has a problem. As a private eye in the small town of Elysium, MN, he's been known to take a bail jumper here and a bond case there, but his latest bounty has him in over his head with a dead body at his feet and handcuffs around his wrists.
The job seems simple enough at first, but as the details fill in, Soren's mark, Ian, turns out to be a nazi meth dealer with a deadly skill for violence and mayhem. Despite the warning signs or perhaps because of them, Soren jumps head-first into Ian's 'farmstead death-palace' with disasterous, deadly results. Who knew a well placed garden gnome could make such a difference? Who knew ether was that explosive?
Seeking help, Soren calls his cop friend Suzie, but Ian has other plans. Plans involving a gas-powered, three-speed hedge-cutter. Now Soren has about ten minutes to tell Suzie why she needs to let him off the hook before her backup arrives and he's hung out to dry.
