FEATURE FILM SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

ELECTRONICALLY

The contest is open
to everyone. You must be 18 years or older (21 in some states) to
participate, or have written consent from your parent or guardian.
v
Film must be in
English, or subtitled in English
v
International
submissions are encouraged, as long as they are in English, or subtitled in
English.
v
Film must be in one
of the following formats:
- 35mm
- Video NTSC (Digital Betacam, Beta SP, DV)
- DVD NTSC
v
Screeners must be
submitted on one of the following formats:
- NTSC DVD (region coding 0 or 1 only)
- NTSC VHS
- PAL DVD (region coding 0 or 1 ONLY. Final material must be available in 35mm
print or NTSC video)
v
Films must be 65
minutes or longer
v
All music rights must
be cleared and licensed to be shown at a festival
v
All prints and materials
sent to GOTHAM SCREEN must be
insured by the sender.
v
Screeners will not be
returned. Do not send originals, and make sure you retain a copy.
v

Submissions must be

International
submissions are encouraged, as long as they are in English.

Feature length
screenplays should be properly formatted and have an approximate length of
80-120 pages. On the cover page, please put the title, the writer's name(s) and the contact details.
v
Submissions are
accepted electronically, via withoutabox.com. Electronic submissions are
secure and save time, money and valuable resources.
v
Scripts can be
uploaded in the following formats: pdf / final draft / final draft secure /
MSword / rtf / txt. Preferred formats are pdf or final draft.
v
If your script is in
any other format, please transfer it into a pdf file to upload
v
If you prefer to
submit a hard copy, please complete the submission and payment process, print
documentation and send your submission to:

Contest winners will
be notified by October 2008.

You must give us a
valid e-mal address to be notified.

Material must not
have been previously produced.
v
Material must not
currently be under option by a production company or producer.
v
If we think your
screenplay has potential, a producer or production company may contact you
with a production and/or development proposal. You will be under no
obligation whatsoever to enter into such a proposal if you do not wish to do
so.
v
All future agreements
will be in writing and you will have the chance to opt out of any such
agreements and proposals
v
There will be no
correspondence, no calls, and no inquiries about the contest or its progress,
until final announcements are being made.
v
Only one version of
any screenplay can be submitted.
v
Please do not
re-submit updates, missing pages etc.
v
You may submit more
than one screenplay per writer, and you may submit more than one screenplay
per category.
